Mare Blu Bed & Breakfast - Gioiosa Marea

Our experience during Christmas was fantastic! The hotel offered a delicious breakfast with a great variety of dishes to choose from. The location was perfect, just a few steps away from the beach and with plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. We also loved the fact that the room had a balcony, which afforded us beautiful views of the sea.

Although the room was spacious and clean, the bathroom could use some updating. The shower was a bit small and the water pressure was weak.

Good sized room with air conditioning and fridge. There was also a communal kitchen for preparation of meals, with a large fridge freezer. There is a large terrace with tables and umbrellas where breakfast is served, and is a nice spot for a glass of wine in the evening. We visited in mid-September, and the town of Gioiosa Marea was very quiet - local people going about their business with not too many tourists. If you want lots of bars and entertainment, this is not the place, but if you just want to relax it is a nice, good value spot. Not a lot of English is spoken in the town, so you'll get on better with some basic Italian.

Mare Blu is not listed on the accommodation map outside the train station, so make sure you have a map or arrange to be collected from the station. It is less than a 10 minute walk, but if you don't know where you are going it is tricky to locate.

The owner of hotel is very kind man, offerred us a jam made from his garden oranges :) Cool!

If you're looking for a seaside getaway, this hotel has got you covered. the rooms are clean and spacious, with nice showers and spotless bathrooms. the staff is friendly and helpful, providing plenty of information about the surrounding area. Plus, there are communal kitchens and a terrace to cook and eat, perfect for families with children. Supermarkets, bars, and restaurants are just a short walk away, making it convenient to explore. Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful view of the sea!

The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities such as air conditioning and a fridge. the communal kitchen and terrace were a great addition and allowed us to cook and enjoy our meals with a beautiful view. the location was convenient with a supermarket nearby and several bars and restaurants around. the town itself was charming and perfect for a few days of relaxation.

Our only concern was that it might be hard to find the hotel if you don't know the area well. It might be useful to arrange pickup from the train station in advance.
